Industrial Unmanaged PoE+ Gigabit Ethernet Switch with 12 M12 Ports and Relay Bypass Function for Railway Applications

The Konten ET-0804C-M12 is an industrial unmanaged PoE+ Gigabit Ethernet switch designed to provide reliable network communication in railway vehicles, transportation systems and demanding industrial environments. Equipped with eight 10/100 Mbps M12 ports supporting IEEE 802.3at PoE+ and four 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit M12 ports with integrated Relay Bypass function, the switch offers a powerful solution for industrial Ethernet networks requiring high availability and robust operation. The M12 connectors ensure secure and vibration-resistant connections, enabling reliable performance even under severe mechanical conditions. The integrated Bypass function maintains network communication in the event of a power interruption and contributes to improved availability of critical systems.

The ET-0804C-M12 has been developed for use in harsh industrial environments and complies with the EN50155 standard for railway applications. Its rugged SECC steel enclosure provides IP40 protection as standard and is also available in an IP54 version. With an extended operating temperature range of -40 °C to +75 °C, the switch ensures reliable operation under extreme climatic conditions. The redundant and galvanically isolated PoE power supply with a power budget of up to 165 watts enables efficient power delivery to connected PoE devices. Integrated protection against overcurrent and reverse polarity further improves system safety and supports continuous operation in demanding applications.

For efficient data transmission, the switch uses a Store-and-Forward switching architecture and provides a 9.6 Gbps switching capacity, an 8,000-entry MAC address table, and a 4 Mbit packet buffer. Auto-Negotiation and Auto MDI/MDI-X simplify integration into existing Ethernet infrastructures and enable quick installation. Each PoE port supports up to 30 watts, allowing multiple compatible network devices such as cameras, displays or other PoE-powered equipment to be supplied directly through the switch.

LED indicators for power supply, system status, port activity and PoE output enable quick monitoring of operating conditions. The switch supports wall mounting as well as optional DIN rail mounting, allowing flexible integration into different industrial systems.
