The KONTEN MS-0812G is an industrial managed Gigabit Ethernet switch with 8+12 ports, designed for reliable network operation in demanding industrial environments. Eight Gigabit Ethernet ports along with twelve additional SFP slots — consisting of four 1000F(x) and eight 100/1000F(x) slots — offer system integrators and machine builders a fiber-focused network solution with high flexibility for building powerful infrastructures.
For users, the large number of SFP slots provides an ideal foundation for fiber-optic networks over long distances, as commonly required in distributed industrial facilities or outdoor areas — without the interference issues of long-distance copper cabling. Network redundancy through RSTP, MSTP, ERPS, and LACP ensures that in the event of a connection failure, traffic is automatically rerouted to alternative paths, minimizing downtime in production-critical networks. QoS functions via CoS and DSCP prioritize critical data streams, ensuring deterministic behavior for automation applications with real-time requirements. IGMP Snooping versions 1 through 3, supporting up to 512 groups, enables efficient management of multicast data streams, such as video transmissions on the network. The USB storage function enables configuration-free device replacement during service, significantly speeding up maintenance work. The switch also supports the industrial automation protocols Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP for direct integration into existing PLC and control systems, while SNMP v1/v2c/v3 enables professional, centralized network management.
Thanks to its rugged construction for harsh environments, wide operating temperature range, IP30 protection class, and EN50121-4 certification, the MS-0812G is ideally suited for factory automation, railway applications, and other industrial networks that rely on fiber-based connectivity over long distances.
