The KONTEN MS-2404G-8C is an industrial managed Gigabit Ethernet switch with 16+8+4 ports, designed for reliable network operation in demanding industrial environments. Sixteen Gigabit Ethernet ports, eight additional Gigabit combo ports, and four 1000F(x) SFP slots offer system integrators and machine builders high port density and maximum flexibility for building powerful network infrastructures.
For users, the combo ports provide a flexible choice between copper and fiber connectivity depending on the application, while the four SFP slots add extra uplink capacity for connecting to higher-level network tiers — ideal for facilities with many distributed end devices. Network redundancy through RSTP, MSTP, ERPS, and LACP ensures that in the event of a connection failure, traffic is automatically rerouted to alternative paths, minimizing downtime in production-critical networks. QoS functions via CoS and DSCP prioritize critical data streams, ensuring deterministic behavior for automation applications with real-time requirements. IGMP Snooping versions 1 through 3, supporting up to 512 groups, enables efficient management of multicast data streams, such as video transmissions on the network. The USB storage function enables configuration-free device replacement during service, significantly speeding up maintenance work. The switch also supports the industrial automation protocols Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP for direct integration into existing PLC and control systems, while SNMP v1/v2c/v3 enables professional, centralized network management.
Thanks to its rugged construction for harsh environments, wide operating temperature range, and IP30 protection class, the MS-2404G-8C is ideally suited for factory automation, larger network infrastructures, and other industrial deployments where high port density, network redundancy, and reliable management are essential.
