Allied Vision Alvium Modular Concept

The Allied Vision Alvium Modular Concept expands the Alvium camera platform with flexible hardware options for demanding Machine Vision and Embedded Vision applications. Instead of a fixed standard configuration, the modular concept allows the camera to be tailored to individual system requirements – from different housing and board-level variants to flexible interfaces and dedicated sensor options. This enables system integrators, machine builders, and industrial companies to implement a solution that integrates seamlessly into existing or new systems without the need for complex custom developments. The modular platform offers a high degree of design flexibility and supports a wide range of applications with numerous image sensors, lens mounts, and interface options.

The Alvium Modular Concept includes several hardware options designed to meet different integration requirements. Alvium G1 Board Level separates the sensor and interface using flexible connection cables, allowing both components to be positioned independently of each other – ideal for space-constrained systems. Alvium Frame features an actively aligned precision mount that ensures accurate sensor alignment while simplifying the integration of bare-board cameras into custom-designed systems. Alvium Flex provides highly compact board-level and open-housing versions with board-to-board connectors, enabling custom connection solutions while supporting more than 20 image sensors as well as Sony SWIR and UV sensors. The modular concept is further enhanced by the Removed Cover Glass (RCG) option, which removes the sensor cover glass. This minimizes unwanted reflections and image artifacts while increasing overall quantum efficiency, making it particularly suitable for reflection-sensitive applications or systems using fiber optic arrays.
