The Allied Vision Alvium C is a compact MIPI CSI-2 industrial camera specifically designed for demanding embedded vision applications. It combines high-performance Sony CMOS image sensors with a space-saving design, making it an ideal choice for integration into embedded systems. Thanks to its modular concept, support for various lens mounts, and availability as either a bare board or in an open housing, the camera can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of system requirements. With resolutions of up to 24.6 megapixels and frame rates of up to 689 fps, the Alvium C covers a broad range of industrial image processing applications.
The high-performance MIPI CSI-2 interface with up to four lanes enables fast data transfer and efficient processing of large image data volumes. The integrated ALVIUM processor, featuring an Image Signal Processor (ISP) and Image Processing Library (IPL), performs image corrections and preprocessing directly within the camera. This reduces the processing load on the embedded system and frees up additional computing resources for the actual application. The unified driver architecture simplifies the exchange of different Alvium CSI-2 camera models, while support for Vimba X, GenICam, Video4Linux2, and common embedded platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson, AMD Xilinx Zynq, and NXP i.MX8M Plus enables rapid integration into existing development environments. In addition, the intelligent power management supports the development of low-power and battery-operated systems.
The Alvium C is ideally suited for embedded vision applications that require high image quality, a compact form factor, and low power consumption. Typical application areas include industrial image processing, robotics, automation, intelligent camera systems, and mobile or battery-powered embedded solutions.
