OPT-RIF Series – Diffuse Dark Field Ring Lights (Standard Light Source)

The OPT-RIF series from OPT includes high-quality diffuse dark field ring lights, specifically designed for industrial machine vision. Compared to conventional ring lights, these light sources offer improved uniformity and shadow-free illumination, making them particularly suitable for inspecting large round or irregularly shaped objects.

Diffuse dark field illumination reduces direct reflections and highlights surface defects, fine structures, and contrast differences—ideal for applications where glare would be problematic. As a result, OPT-RIF ring lights are excellent for surface inspection and defect detection, optical character recognition (OCR), logo, barcode, and fingerprint recognition, as well as inspection tasks on complex-shaped components.

Thanks to their robust construction and uniform light distribution, these ring lights perform reliably at various working distances and can be flexibly integrated into automated vision systems. The series is available in different diameters and color options (e.g., white, red, green, blue) to best suit each inspection task.
