Very high voltage instruments

Today we announced the addition of two new ultra high-isolation Ethernet measurement instruments to our popular MEASURpoint product line.  The ISO-Channel™ design used on these instruments provides up to ±3500V high voltage rejection to preserve small signals generated from thermocouples, RTDs, and other sensitive sensors in harsh, high voltage noise environments.

What are the key features of the MEASURpoint instruments?

• High isolation to earth ground:  ±1400V continuously or 2500V for transients (DT8875) or ±3500V continuously or 5000V for transients (DT8876)
• Channel-to-Channel Isolation:  2800V (DT8875) or 7000V (DT8876)
• High stability, 24-bit resolution, Delta Sigma ADC per channel
• Up to 40 simultaneous differential inputs (DT8875), 20 simultaneous differential inputs (DT8876)
• Measure thermocouples, RTDs, or voltage
• B,E,J,K,N,R,S and T thermocouple support with accuracy to ± 0.24°C
• 4-wire, 3-wire, or 2-wire PT100, PT500, PT1000 RTDs support with accuracy to ± 0.03°C
• Sample up to 10Hz per channel

What about software?

Both the MEASURpoint Framework and a web-based application are included.  The MEASURpoint Framework is a ready-to-measure application that acquires thermocouple, RTD, and/or voltage data from multiple instruments, records data to disk, displays the results in both a plot and a digital display, and reads a recorded data file.  The web-based application “discovers” the device on the network, verifies its operation, configures the instrument, controls output signals, measures input signals, and saves results to disk.  An IVI-COM driver is also included.

Who will be interested?

The DT8875 and DT8876 are perfect for applications where high-isolation protection is required to ensure data acquisition integrity in noisy and often remote settings, including:

Who is the competition?

Although no other company offers the kind of high isolation capability that our ISO-Channel technology provides, there are other companies that make temperature measurement instruments such as VTI Instruments and GEC Instruments.  The products offered by these companies, however, cannot be compared to MEASURpoint since they do not isolate to ±3500V.
